
It was a rough day on the tennis courts for both of the Ankeny and Ankeny Centennial boys’ teams on Tuesday.
The Jaguars dropped an 11-0 decision to visiting Dowling Catholic, which swept all 11 matches in straight sets. The Maroons won three of the matches without dropping a game.
Dowling remained unbeaten in dual competition, improving to 3-0 in the CIML Conference and 5-0 overall. Centennial’s records fell to 1-2 and 3-3.
Ankeny, meanwhile, suffered an 11-0 loss at Johnston. The Dragons are now 2-1 in the league and 4-1 overall, while the Hawks’ records fell to 0-4 and 1-4.

The Jaguars will host another conference meet against Valley on Thursday. The Tigers are 2-1 in the league and 3-1 overall.
Both Centennial and Ankeny will then compete in the Dennis Hoefle Invitational on Friday, which will be hosted by the Hawks at the Prairie Ridge courts.
