
It was a rough day on the tennis courts for both of the Ankeny and Ankeny Centennial boys’ teams on Tuesday.
The Jaguars dropped an 11-0 decision to visiting Dowling Catholic, which swept all 11 matches in straight sets. The Maroons won three of the matches without dropping a game.
Dowling remained unbeaten in dual competition, improving to 3-0 in the CIML Conference and 5-0 overall. Centennial’s records fell to 1-2 and 3-3.
Ankeny, meanwhile, suffered an 11-0 loss at Johnston, which also won all 11 matches in straight sets. The Dragons are now 2-1 in the league and 4-1 overall, while the Hawks’ records fell to 0-4 and 1-4.

The Jaguars will host another conference meet against Valley on Thursday. The Tigers are 2-2 in the league and 3-2 overall after dropping an 11-0 decision to Waukee Northwest on Tuesday.
Both Centennial and Ankeny will then compete in the Dennis Hoefle Invitational on Friday, which will be hosted by the Hawks at the Prairie Ridge courts.
