Both the Ankeny Centennial and Ankeny girls’ soccer teams earned No. 1 seeds in Class 3A regional play from the Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union, which announced its postseason pairings on Thursday.
The third-ranked Jaguars (11-1-1) will host Cedar Falls (4-7-2) or Waterloo West (1-10-2) in a Region 3 semifinal on Tuesday, June 2 at 7 p.m. The game will be played at Northview.
Centennial is also slated to host Cedar Falls in its regular-season finale on May 22. The Tigers will host the quarterfinal game against Waterloo West on May 27.
No. 14 Cedar Rapids Prairie (6-4) is the No. 2 seed and will host third-seeded Davenport Central (7-6) in the other semifinal game. The highest remaining ranked team will host the regional final on Thursday, June 4 at 7 p.m.
The sixth-ranked Hawkettes (7-4-1) will host Des Moines North (5-6-1) or Marshalltown (7-7-1) in a Region 6 semifinal on Tuesday, June 2 at 7 p.m. The Polar Bears will host the quarterfinal game on May 28.
No. 11 Cedar Rapids Kennedy (8-1-1) is the No. 2 seed and will host third-seeded Mason City (10-3) in the other semifinal game. The highest remaining ranked team will host the regional final on Thursday, June 4 at 7 p.m.
