The Ankeny girls' tennis team closed out its CIML Conference schedule with a 9-2 loss to fourth-ranked Valley on Thursday at the Prairie Ridge courts. Substate pairings announced: Jaguars earn No. 3 seed, Hawks are No. 4

The boys' tennis substate pairings have been announced by the Iowa High School Athletic Association. Ankeny Centennial is seeded third in Class 2A Substate 5 and will play sixth-seeded Dallas Center-Grimes in the opening round on Friday, May 12 at Johnston. Urbandale girls edge Hawkettes, 6-5, after Osburn exits with back injury

An injury to Lauren Osburn proved costly on Wednesday for the Ankeny girls' tennis team. Osburn tweaked her back after winning the first set of her No. 3 singles match against visiting Urbandale. Kylin Smith and the Ankeny Centennial girls' track team enjoyed another great day at the Drake Relays. Taking advantage of the perfect weather conditions, Ankeny's duo of Tyler Sickerson and Jack Belding both qualified for the final in the boys' 100-meter dash at the Drake Relays on Friday morning. Ethan Zuber didn't know how fast he was running around the blue oval on Thursday afternoon. The lack of awareness paid off for the Ankeny sophomore.
