Former Ankeny Centennial football standout Chase Schutty has entered the transfer portal.
Schutty, a redshirt freshman tight end at Northern Illinois, announced his decision on social media Wednesday.
“Dear Huskie Nation, I would like to say thank you to coach Hammock, coach White and coach Woody for giving me the opportunity to play at NIU. I’d also like to give a thank you to SAASS for helping me through the college experience. With that being said, I’m entering the transfer portal with four years of eligibility.”
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Schutty did not see any game action during his redshirt season as the Huskies posted an 8-5 record that was capped off by a 28-20 victory over Fresno State in double overtime in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
