The Ankeny Centennial girls' golf team got a chance to play Veenker Golf Course on Tuesday. The Jaguars will be heading back to one of the state's most difficult courses in nine days. The wind died down a little bit on Wednesday afternoon, giving the Ankeny Centennial girls' golf team a chance to lower its scores at Briarwood Golf Club. The Ankeny Centennial girls' golf team accomplished something on Monday that it hadn't done all season. The Jaguars placed fifth among nine squads in the Dragon Invitational at Jester Park. Two weeks ago, the Ankeny Centennial girls' golf team shot a 241 in a dual-meet loss to Marshalltown at Elmwood Country Club. Tuesday was a tough day for the Ankeny Centennial girls' golf team. The Jaguars placed 13th among 14 squads in the Linn-Mar Invitational at Hunters Ridge Golf Course. They posted a score of 449. The Marshalltown girls' golf team completed a sweep of both Ankeny schools by defeating visiting Ankeny Centennial, 189-241, on Thursday at Elmwood Country Club.
