Ankeny golfers suffer close losses to Waukee, Dowling in final CIML triangular

Only five strokes separated the three girls' golf teams in a CIML Conference triangular meet on Wednesday at Sugar Creek. Unfortunately, Ankeny came out on the short end. Longtime assistant coach Willers hired to take over Centennial wrestling program

Ankeny Centennial has promoted one of Jay Groth's longtime assistant coaches to take over the Jaguars' wrestling program. The Ankeny girls' soccer team bounced back from Monday's loss at Waukee with a 3-1 victory over visiting North Polk in a non-conference game on Tuesday. Despite a couple of close matches, the Ankeny Centennial boys' tennis team dropped an 11-0 decision at Johnston on Tuesday. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Dragons, whose only loss came at Waukee Northwest on April 16. Ex-Jaguar star Miller named freshman athlete of the year at Wayne State College

Former Ankeny Centennial volleyball star Delaney Miller has been named the freshman athlete of the year at Wayne State College. There were some bright spots for the Ankeny boys' tennis team on Tuesday despite the Hawks' 11-0 loss to visiting Waukee Northwest.
