Karly Weber of the Ankeny volleyball team is the Ankeny Fanatic Sub of the Week sponsored by Blimpie. Weber, a senior defensive specialist, has helped seventh-ranked Ankeny to a 17-10 record. Jesslyn Gaumer is one of only two seniors on the varsity for the Ankeny Centennial girls' cross country team, while junior Fiona Riordan is one of the top runners for crosstown rival Ankeny. Hawks thump Roosevelt for their first win of the season

The Ankeny football team took out its frustration Friday against Des Moines Roosevelt. Murphy leads Hawkettes to 8th-place finish at Cedar Falls

Sophomore Madeleine Murphy continues to set the pace for the Ankeny girls' cross country team. Murphy placed 32nd in the Rich Engel Classic on Thursday at Birdsall Park in Cedar Falls, leading the Hawkettes to an eighth-place finish in the 19-team field. For the second year in a row, the Ankeny Centennial boys' golf team shot a 153 during a dual meet against crosstown rival Ankeny at Otter Creek Golf Course. The Ankeny girls' swimming team is still awaiting its first big test of the season. For the first time this season, the Ankeny boys' golf team placed among the top three squads at an invitational meet on Tuesday. Thursday's Bobcat Invitational provided some huge challenges for both the Ankeny and Ankeny Centennial girls' cross country teams.
