The Ankeny boys' tennis team got two wins apiece from Jake McCann and Ian Ferree, but it wasn't enough as the Hawks dropped a 7-4 decision at Dowling Catholic in their CIML Central Conference opener on Thursday. The Ankeny Centennial girls' golf team will have a different look this season. Gone is Tenley Moretti, the four-time state placewinner who graduated last spring. A fairly strong wind created some havoc on Thursday for the Ankeny girls' tennis team. The Hawkettes' opponent created even more problems. Visiting Dowling Catholic won all 11 matches in straight sets and rolled to an 11-0 victory at the Prairie Ridge courts.
