Senior Adam Vaske won four events to help the fifth-ranked Ankeny boys' swimming team to a 110-60 victory over visiting Des Moines Roosevelt on Thursday at Trail Point Aquatics Center. Short-handed Hawk swimmers place 2nd at Wittmer Invitational

Four of the state's top 10 boys' swimming teams were in action on Saturday at the Mike Wittmer Invitational in Ames. Fifth-ranked Ankeny placed second in the six-team field with 230 points. Some of the best races on Thursday at Trail Point Aquatics Center were between teammates on the Ankeny boys' swimming squad. The Ankeny bowling teams ran into one of the CIML's top bowling programs on Tuesday at Great Escape. Both Ankeny teams lost to Des Moines Lincoln, which placed seventh in last year's girls' Class 3A state tournament.
