The Ankeny Centennial girls' tennis team earned its first dual-meet victory in convincing fashion on Thursday. The fifth-ranked Jaguars routed visiting Marshalltown, 11-0, in their CIML Iowa Conference opener. They evened their overall record at 1-1. The Ankeny Centennial boys' track team tuned up for next week's Drake Relays with a second-place finish in the Class AA division of the Waukee Invitational on Thursday. The Ankeny boys' tennis team bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 9-2 victory over visiting Fort Dodge on Thursday. The Ankeny girls' soccer team couldn't find a way to score a goal during Thursday's game at Dowling Catholic. The Hawkettes are not alone. The Marshalltown girls' golf team completed a sweep of both Ankeny schools by defeating visiting Ankeny Centennial, 189-241, on Thursday at Elmwood Country Club. Rhoads wins Ankeny Fanatic’s NCAA Tournament pool

Tony Rhoads of Ankeny is the winner of the Ankeny Fanatic NCAA Tournament pool. He receives a $50 gift card from the Yankee Clipper. Rhoads finished with 93 points.
