Only one stroke separated the Ankeny Centennial and Ames girls' golf teams on Tuesday at Briarwood Golf Club. Unfortunately, the Jaguars came out on the short end. The Ankeny boys' tennis team has been struggling to win the close matches in its recent meets. On Monday, the Hawks found a way to get over the hump and posted an 8-3 victory at Urbandale. Monday wasn't the best time for the Ankeny girls' tennis team to face one of the state's top squads. The Hawkettes played host to Urbandale without their No. 2 singles player, sophomore Abby Johnson. Tobey wins Ankeny Fanatic’s NCAA Tournament pool

Nate Tobey is the winner of the Ankeny Fanatic NCAA Tournament pool. He finished with 100 points. Nate correctly picked 15 of the Sweet 16 teams and six of the Elite 8 teams. Hawks knock off No. 3 Valley, finish 3-1 at Valley Classic

The Ankeny boys' soccer team made a huge statement on Friday. The 12th-ranked Hawks got a hat trick from Charlie Pritchard and posted a 3-1 victory at No. 3 Valley, giving coach Jordan Burns his first win ever at Valley Stadium.
