Hawkettes top Pleasantville, fall to Ballard at Prange Classic

The Ankeny softball team stayed above the .500 mark by winning the second game of Thursday's non-conference doubleheader against visiting Des Moines East, the No. 15 team in Class 5A. The Class 4A baseball substate assignments have been announced by the Iowa High School Athletic Association. Ankeny (10-9) has been placed in Substate 2. The Ankeny baseball team walked off with a win Thursday for the second time this season. Ankeny boys' soccer standout Kolby Raineri has been named to the Class 3A all-state first team by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.
