Hawkettes, Jaguars get final tune-up for Drake Relays

The Ankeny and Ankeny Centennial girls' track teams each had one final tune-up on Monday to help prepare for this week's Drake Relays. The Hawkettes placed second among eight teams in the Bobcat Invitational at Marshalltown. The Ankeny girls' soccer team relied on a simple formula to defeat a pair of opponents this weekend. Just score some goals early and often. Junior Megan Lazear is a member of the Ankeny Centennial girls' golf team, while senior Lexi Russell plays for Ankeny's squad. Raineri leads Hawks to win over East, then commits to play for UCCS

Hawkettes, Jaguars perform well at prestigious Kansas Relays

A trip to the Kansas Relays proved to be beneficial for both the Ankeny girls' and Ankeny Centennial boys' track teams. Mytika Mayberry placed fourth for the Hawkettes in the girls' 100. Ankeny's Mytika Mayberry has qualified for the finals in the 100-meter dash at the Kansas Relays. Mayberry won her preliminary heat on Friday in a time of 12.15 seconds, which set a personal record.
