The Des Moines Lincoln girls' basketball team didn't have an answer for Ankeny's Sara McCullough. McCullough recorded a double-double by halftime of Tuesday's game at Ankeny, racking up 13 points and 10 rebounds. Ashley Harrington of the Ankeny girls' basketball team is the Ankeny Fanatic Sub of the Week sponsored by Blimpie. Harrington, a junior guard, has helped Ankeny to a 4-1 record. Brandon Schumacher, Tetmeyer posting solid scores for Ankeny bowlers

Brandon Schumacher and Isabel Tetmeyer continue to lead the way for the Ankeny bowling teams. Schumacher bowled a 413 series during a dual meet against Waukee on Monday at Warrior Lanes, while Tetmeyer led the Hawkettes with a 380 series. The Ankeny wrestling team competed in one of the toughest tournaments in the Midwest on Friday and Saturday at Independence. Some of the best races on Thursday at Trail Point Aquatics Center were between teammates on the Ankeny boys' swimming squad. The Ankeny bowling teams ran into one of the CIML's top bowling programs on Tuesday at Great Escape. Both Ankeny teams lost to Des Moines Lincoln, which placed seventh in last year's girls' Class 3A state tournament.
